Hi to all of you.
Yesterday I bought Videostudio X8.. Today I made my first video. I closed and then opened the program again and i received a message "load from stream error".
I reboot the pc but i still get the same message every time i open videostudio X8.
What can I do? And why is that problem?
Thank you....

One of the files in your system has become corrupt
You should be able to cure it by resetting VideoStudio
to do that first close VideoStudio - then on your computer go to - C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\18.0 and rename the folder - - 18old
then restart VideoStudio which will create a new 18 folder
see if the problem is solved

Re: load from stream error in VideoStudio X8
Hello all,
Today, same corrupt file situation. X7 and the "load from stream" error. I can't locate that C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\18.0? (.17? for X7 Ultimate?).
It happened when trying to delete a quantity of thumbnails in the workroom.
I uninstalled and reinstalled X7 Ultimate hoping to delete all the thumbnails but that file remained as is with 7 corrupt links and problem unsolved.
Help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello again,
I managed to arrange the problem.
For those who need more info on this: a copy of the Corel website. Click the "library backup" link after the "load from stream error protocol"
Error Message
Load from stream error protocol
Information
When launching VideoStudio Pro, a "Load From Stream"error will pop up on the screen, preventing the application from loading. This is due to corruption of the file library for VideoStudio Pro.
Resolution
Make sure that Corel® VideoStudio is closed
Open the Run command box (press and hold down the Windows and R buttons on the keyboard)
Type the following: appdata
Press the OK button
Open the Roaming Folder
Open the Ulead Systems folder
Rename the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder to Corel VideoStudio Pro_old
By renaming this folder, once VideoStudio Pro is launched, a new Corel VideoStudio Pro folder will be generated with the new database information. At that point, the Load from stream error message will cease to appear. Unfortunately, this will remove all contents from within the Library folders within VideoStudio Pro. Meaning, any video, image or audio thumbnails that were imported, as well as any folders that were created, will no longer be viewable upon the re-launch. That is why it is highly recommended that the Library folders are constantly backed up or exported to a folder within Windows. For information on how to backup or export the VideoStudio Pro library, please click on the following link:

Re: load from stream error in VideoStudio X8
Hi
It is most likely that the “Load from stream error” is associated with a VSP project file added to the library. Nesting VSP projects may also cause this problem.
Do you know if you added VSP’s or indeed nested VSP’s? usually done by mistake has caused problems.
Resetting the program…….
The 18.0 folder structure is a windows hidden folder, you can change that in any Folder- Tools – Options—View tab.
Searching for “appdata” will however find the roaming folder allowing you access to the 18.0 folder.
If you re-name the Corel VideoStudio Pro, that will affect all installed Video Studio programs, that's if you have more than one installed.

Thanks for the explanation. In this case I wanted to delete thumbnails in a series instead of one by one and that corrupted the file.
All the best.

Re: load from stream error in VideoStudio X8
This is what appears to have just happened to me. I tried to drag and drop in some images...they were gif's that were actually jpg's. When I tried to drag them in they wouldn't go. CorelVisualStudio X6 doesn't like gif's. I opened them and resaved them again with the correct extension and dragged one in again and that's when the error popped up. I restarted the program and it's got the error popping up like a jumping bean and one image that's a white square with an x through it and now it hasn't got a title.lata wrote:Hi

Where and how would I find this rouge pain in my butt and get rid of it without resetting the program. I personally don't want to loose the tons of imports and folders I've created.

"they were gif's that were actually jpg's" - - what does that mean - they are either gif or jpg
make sure you have a copy of the image somewhere safe on your computer - now select the white square which is your image in Videostudio and hold down the shift key as you press the delete key - say yes to both pop-ups
