I have worked with PSP since version 7 and I'm now at X7 and have never had this problem.
When I am typing in a text box and press 'enter' to create a new line, the new line of text ends up way above my first line of text instead of going below the line I just typed.
As you can see in the attached picture, I typed the line "Don't just cheer," then hit enter and then typed "Inspire" which is way above somewhere. The size of the text box is crazy as you can see by the centre point.
This is a totally new problem for me. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Text box issues
the only thing I can think of that would cause this problem is if "Leading" is set to a negative number.

Re: Text box issues
If you have any problems with any tools try using the 'Reset to Default' button which is mostly located to the right of the Presets drop down for each tool.

Re: Text box issues
Hi LeviFiction &
You are right...that leading box is set at -3.770 for some reason. I can change it but then it and then it reverts to that number again. How can I make it stay where I want it which would be zero.
I find the version of PSP has a lot of things that revert to previous settings at random. Driving me nuts.
Thank you for the reply.

Restart it after deleting the cache file :
File/Preferences/Reset the preferences
Check Remove the cache file.
Restart the application.
If problem still there, restart the application while maintaining down the Shift Key until it ask you if you are sure to reset the application to its default state. Ok and go... Save your workspace before.

Re: Text box issues
This could be happening because of the way that you are doing it. If you open a text box to edit text that has already been created, the options will revert to the values that were originally set for that text. If you want to change the global value of an option for that text (for example, the leading setting) then you must first select ALL of the text in the text box, including any spaces between lines/paragraphs and any spaces that may exist at the end of the text. Once selected, then you can change the leading (or whatever) to zero for your preference, and continue from there.Loopy wrote:Hi LeviFiction &

To see if you have a problem with the program itself, start the program and start a blank New image. Then select the Text tool but DON'T click on the image yet! Look at all of the settings in the tool options palette and set everything - except Size - to a default value of zero or, when the value isn't numerical, to whatever you would prefer your default value to be (e.b., Font, pixels or points, etc.) because PSP remembers the last settings you had when you used the Text tool. Then click on the image with the text tool. Check to make sure everything stayed as you set it. If Leading did change, change it back to zero, lay down a bit of text and, if Leading stayed on zero, close the image without saving, close PSP. Then open PSP again, new blank image, select Text tool and see if all of those default settings were saved and, in your case, that the Leading setting is still zero.
