Stop MANAGE from pre-selecting image?

Post by JoeB »

I was working on an image in Edit and clicked the Manage tab and opened a different folder from the one from which I had chosen my work image. I then decided I didn't want to open another image at that time so clicked on the Edit tab again to go back to my work. However, another image opened in my workspace. It turns out that when you open a folder in Manage the program automatically has the first image in that folder selected, so it will open if you go to Edit unless you actively deselect it first using Ctrl-Click.

Is this a behavior that can be changed so that there are no images automatically selected when a folder is opened, or is it something that can't be changed? I can understand that any user selected images should likely stay selected, but in a folder where the user has not yet selected any images I think it would make more sense for the program to wait until the user selects something.

I don't know of a way to prevent Manage from selecting the first image and, like you, find this annoying when going back and forth between Manage and Edit. I have discovered that I can deselect (no preview is what I look for) by holding the control key while clicking on the selected image. Also, if you are at the top of the thumbs you can sometimes cancel the selection by clicking in the space above the thumbs.
