Intermittant workspace loss

Post by JoeB »

EDIT: Well, the problem described below happened again immediately after posting this problem, but at least a dozen open/close of PSP and different timings for switching between Manage and Edit and the problem hasn't re-surfaced. So maybe it was an OS/registry issue that got fixed with a reboot. But best to leave the post here in case others do find they have the issue.

I have been working on customizing my workspace (toolbars, etc.) I did quite a few changes today, including adding bound scripts, removing or arranging some tool buttons, etc. I experimented using some scripts on an image I had opened using the Recent Files option. I then decided to add a second image to the workspace so went to the Manage tab, found a thumbnail I was interested in, double clicked it and it opened in a large preview. I closed that preview and then clicked the Edit tab to bring that image into my Edit workspace. The image opened but all of my customizations were lost. I hadn't yet saved my customized workspace because I wasn't finished customizing, so I'll have to do it all again.

Anybody else have issues with losing their customized workspace and, if so, under what conditions and have you found the reason it might happen?

As an aside, is there any way to make the signature automatically attach to my posts without having to select the box every time?

If you go into your User Control Panel (top left of screen below the big Corel banner) you select the Profile tab. Down the left hand side you will see Edit Signature.

I already had the signature, but when I reply to a post (such as this one) I still have to check the Attach a Signature box each time, because it becomes unchecked the next time I reply. I was looking for a way to keep it checked.

EDIT: As to the original workspace loss problem, I just finished redoing my workspace and saving it. Closed PSP, opened it again (I open to Edit by default) and my new workspace was there. BUT then I went to MANAGE, selected several imaged and clicked the EDIT tab. Images all opened but to previous workspace. Obviously still a problem, but at least I was able to re-open my saved workspace.

I checked your profile and found that for some reason "Attach signature by default" was not ticked. I have done so and hope that particular problem now goes away! Also hope someone more knowledgeable than me about PSP can help with the workspace issue.
