HI,
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO CAPTURE VIDEO AT A HIGHER RESOLUTION AS IT'S ALL PIXELATED ON THE TV(WHEN RECORDED FROM THE CAMERA TO THE PC)? THE CAMERA THAT IVE GOT IS A NEW SONY HC 90 AND ALSO SHOOTS IN WIDE SCREEN AND THAT IS PIXELATED. ALSO I HAVE BEEN FILMING WITH A HELMET CAMERA @480 LINES OF RESOLUTION CONECTED TO THE AV INPUT AND THAT IS ALSO PIXELATED, BUT ALL THE FILM ON THE TAPE IS GREAT WHEN YOU PLAY IT JUST OFF THE CAMERA TO THE TV. IF ANYONE COULD PLEASE HELP ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT?
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Well you don't give us much to go on: how do you have your camera connected to the computer? At a guess, I would say you have it connected via USB. That would account for the low quality of the capture and resulting pixelated playback. Instead, you should be using the Firewire port on your camera, which Sony calls i-Link. To quote from the camera specifications:
"i.LINK® DV Interface
A digital high-speed bi-directional interface which provides Audio/Video communication between two compatible devices. This connection allows for pure digital transfer between devices equipped with an IEEE1394 interface, such as camcorders, digital VTRs, capture cards and PCs."
The i-link port is a small one and looks a lit like the mini-USB port. But it is very different, and will require you to buy a Firewire cable. Of course, you must have a Firewire card/port on your computer, and if you don't have one, you will have to buy one of those too and get it installed. Normally, the Firewire cable you have to buy is a 4 pin (I-Link) to 6-pin (normal size) one.
But unless you use Firewire, you just won't be able to get high quality capures. The USB port is only for transmitting still photos and streaming video/net cam quality video to your computer.
