I am a new user to videostudio 8 and I need some help on the editing on the timeline. Is there a way to have the program auto move all the clips, images, audio and etc. automatically when you insert a new image or clip in the timeline? For instance say I have 5 clips inserted and audio in the timeline and I get done and see that I have forgotten to put a 6th video in the timeline between clips 2 and 3. I can do it now but I have to go back through the timeline each time and re-adjust transitions, clips, images and audio?????
please help

Hi Jeff
although I am not an expert, in principle if you insert a new clip in the timeline, everything that is on the same "line" will automatically be shifted accordingly. This means that you will not have problems with the other existing clips or with the transitions (you will of course need to insert transitions around your new clip if needed).
The problem is with everything that is not on the same line of the clips : overlay, titles, background music. They will not be shifted automatically and you will have to readjust everything manually. You will get the same problem if for example you simply modify the settings of a transition effect (extend the duration by 1-2 seconds for example).
I haven't found yet any feature that would do so automatically and I will be very happy if an expert could explain us a way to do so.
So my advice (I have learned by doing the same mystake myself) would be to be sure that you are happy with your clips and transitions before you start inserting titles, overlays, background music, frames, etc.

Hi
Unfortunately there is no way to link different clips between timelines.
But you can use Shift / Click to select multiple clips and move the lot in one go.
I produced a workround for moving audio clips after removing video clips.
The method should work for adding clips (that’s got me thinking)

After editing a clip in the videotrack my Overlays, titles or audiofiles are out of sync.Is there a way to fix this?
Hope this helps
