Actually, the user profile permits to register computer type, motherboard, operating system, etc.
Those informations are visible to other users when we post messages.
It would be interesting to have information about the version(s) of PSP used.
So, when someone posts a message, it would not be necessary to reply "about which version of PSP your problem is related"?
Could a new entry be added to the profile ?

I'm afraid it would be difficult since the Profile covers the whole web board and some of us post in a number of the forums. So I would, for example, have to list the variety of Corel programs I have on my computer. And would we have to list the version numbers too since some of us at least have numerous versions of the same program on the same computer. Admittedly, most users would probably only be interested in one or two programs and/or one or two versions, so it could be feasible for them. But let's see what others have to say...

The simplest thing is to list your PSP versions in your forum signature like I've done. Of course you'd still have to mention in your post which version you're asking a question about.

Yes...
But not all users.
The problem is for beginners or for new users on the forum. Usually, they don't post on numerous forums. The profile is an easy place to put a complete information they don't think to speak about.
It was just a suggestion because I see often users asking for a help but without to say what their version of software they use.

Yes, good suggestion. But as I said to Ken, new users must be guided and often they don't think to create a personalized signature.
But, I repeat, your suggestion is a way...

Based on Jean-Luc's query, I have decided to put my version of PSP in 2 places. First, I've added it to my signature. Second, since I don't really see anybody being interested in my motherboard specs, I have put that info into that field in the profile rather than my motherboard specs.

I have created a new field in the User Control Panel and registration process, which asks you to list Corel programs you own covered by this Board. If you look at my details under my avatar, you will see this new field down at the bottom. When you change your User Control Panel Profile to include these, please use the short form for the program rather than full words i.e. PSP instead of PaintShop Pro, as space in that field is limited.

Thanks Ken! I just became active on this forum a couple of weeks or so ago after some years of absence, and I must say I'm impressed by the response of the mods and administrators to suggestions by users. Great stuff!

I think I'll still leave my PSP version info in my sig because newer forum users might not check out the profile info, so it might still stop some from asking for my version. :-)

That's fine. But like you, I thought it worthwhile to give users as many opportunities as possible to tell us what they are using. I don't know how many times over the years I have had to ask.... But motherboard information can sometimes be useful too!!

If someone has more than one version of PSP and has a problem with one particular version then they will still have to mention the version that they have problems with.
It seems that some come here to vent and forget that we cannot read their mind and need to be able to follow a step by step procedure to attempt to duplicate the suspected prioblem before an answer can be attempted. So basically assume nothing and explain everything.

I totally agree! But many new (and older) users don't seem to understand that those otherwise seemingly irrelevant questions asked in the registration process about their computer setup are often the most relevant information we can find. When they don't provide it we have to ask over and over again... Just about all of them then provide it, but it would have been so much easier if it was already there in their profile under their name/avatar...

By the way, guys, I see you have already changed your User Profiles, so thanks for that!!

You have listed X2, X6 etc. in your profile, but which program? - I believe there are X6s, X7s of a number of products in Corel's stable and this profile could be used in a number of Corel forums

PSP is for PaintShop Pro.
X2 is for 12, etc.
