VS pro x8 sound syncronization
I have searched through the forum but I am having trouble finding an answer to this. I am using VS pro x8 and trying to sync sound and video from 2 or 3 cameras in a single shot. Sometimes I am able to make the sound from one camera work easily with the video of the other, but sometimes it is really tricky. So far, the most accurate thing I can do (and sometimes this is tough) is to put everything in the sound editing mode and visually match up the wave data. This is very time consuming. I am wondering if there is an easier way. Some video programs will detect the sound patterns and automatically sync sound files from 2 different sources. Does VS x8 have this ability or something that will make my life easier?

Re: VS pro x8 sound syncronization
I have VS8 Ultimate. Only been working with it for a month. There might be a way to do that but I haven't discovered it. The audio editing abilities of VS seem to be pretty limited.
So my next thought is to use a .wav editor to find 1 common point in all 3 files and record the time stamp of that point in all 3 wav files, then just line up those time stamps. As simple as that sounds, you'd think that could be done in VS.

VS X8 does not have multicamera sync built in. Corel have been asked to include it in the next version. CyberLink PowerDirector 13 does have multicam included.
You could use a clapper board to sync a number of cameras.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: VS pro x8 sound syncronization
Recently I finished a pub Jazz gig project, I was shooting group & long shots HD way from the back and another shot closeups in SD DV closer to the stage. The sound was recorded from the PA to an audio CD.
I shot continuously each part of the gig , the other shot when ever he could. over all I had to resync his shots ~15 times.
Syncing is not of a great issue, few times I had to take my sound as the applause was not recorded to the CD.
