Multi Trim Window - You live and learn

The experts probably knew this but I only discovered it by accident.

I had been cutting the original video into sections so that I could use the multi-trim function only to cut off the unwanted bits at each end.

I now find that I can select multiple sections of video from anywhere in the clip that I am editing. Makes editing much quicker and not so critical that I get the cuts right. Don't know the maximum number that can be selected but I have cut up to five separate clips from the one base clip using this.
