Size of .VSP file in VS X7

I am curious as to why the .VSP file is about twice the size when I "save" but not if I "save as". I have noticed this phenomenon on my recent projects. I tried a test. I loaded a project that was 9680 KB and immediately saved it (no changes) and then I used "save as" to save it under a new name. The result was that the original project when saved had a .VSP file of 19440 KB and the "new" project was saved into a .VSP file of 9680 KB. Both projects appear to be identical when loaded and viewed in VS X7. Why are the file sizes to dramatically different?
