hello,
1) Sony ARW file support while creating webgalleries
webgallery creation hangs after 4 ARW Files
2) Possibllity to edit lens database or create "own database with my cameras and lenses"
Don't want to scroll down a list of hundreds of unused lenses to try to find the ones I use

Re: [After ASP 2.2] What is your 3 most needed functions?
I'll keep the list simple:
i. Adobe DNG or Lumia 1020 Camera Generated DNG
Probably still a stretch for Adobe DNG support but, it would at least allow me to use all those files I converted into a format that had promise to become the industry standard. At the very least Camera generated DNG support for the Lumia 1020 would be ideal so I don't have to keep going back into Lightroom or other programs.
ii. HDR Paintbrushes (Full Adjustment of Brushes)
Can most certainly use feather, size, opacity support and perhaps even layers support (wouldn't that be awesome to get full control over HDR as you would with manual processing in Photoshop).
iii. Multiple Monitors Support
Support like Lightroom to have previews grid on one display with the selected image on the primary display ready for adjustments.
Plugin developer related: Plugins needing updates (Wavelet Sharpen, Denoise, Zperspector etc.)

1. gradients,
2. more lenses in database - Fuji XF lenses would be great,
3. more color profiles - Fuji X system profiles would be superb.

Re: [After ASP 2.2] What is your 3 most needed functions?
It should be time for a short summary based on the feedback received so far...
The points addressed can be put into one of the following three categories; 1. Broken/missing plugin functionality 2. New functions 3. Improvements
1. Broken/missing plugin functionality
On the very top, and most requested is everything related to Broken/Missing Plugin Functionality. Not only in this survey, but also everywhere around this forum. The most widely used and popular plugins is the biggest pain as far as the amount of work already spent on the images within the application. If the plugins isn't upgraded or further maintained, their functionality should be built into the core product with full backwards compatibility to rescue the many hundreds of hours spent on editing images in the past. The results from the previous plugin survey should be published, but (speaking for myself) I have encountered several other plugins (that has been used/broken on many edited images) after I answered the survey.
Corel's main priority now should without question be to get the plugins up to date, or if broken/unsupported, Corel should incorporate similiar functions into the main product to secure backwards compatibility.
The most requested plugins so far, is:
- Grad Filter Plugin
- Perspective control (zPerspector)
- Wavelet Sharpen/Wavelet Denoise
- Other
2. New functions
This last Qt core framework upgrade with the resulting plugin Armageddon has proven one thing; Corel needs to prioritize to build new functions into their core product. This will allow ASP to build their competitive edge and secure it's users future unbroken use of these functions.
- As it's main competitor Lightroom has had a very good gradient adjustment tool for ages, ASP in comparison is now down to zero. Where ASP outperforms it's competitors, is it's layers and regional selection technology. However, as ASP lacks the functionality of one of the most used photographic filters, a grad filter, it has the ability to utilize it's unique layers and regional selection technology to build a tool that could be even better and more versatile than the ones it's competitors has. More on that here http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=56543
- Other popular functions requested is lens calibrating and lens database. We need a lens calibrating tool to easily calibrate lenses not already into the database and/or update the set values if the results for a specific lens is off. And we need the ability to edit the lens database or to make custom lens sets for easy selection without browsing through the complete list of lenses.
- Slideshow export
- HDR Paintbrushes
- Multiple Monitors support
3. Improvements
This is the requested improvements so far...
- Noise reduction improvements
- Highlight Tool improvements
- Chromatic Aberration improvements
- RAW support kept up to date (less than 2 months after new camera)
- Adobe DNG support (As Afx has explained elsewhere, not possible at current) or Lumia camera DNG support (this should be addressed as the previous point for RAW support)
- Sony ARW file support for Web Galleries fix
- Thumbnail fix (Even amount of white spaces between images)
- Lens corrections must work correctly on EXCIF data
- "Snap to Edge" in crop tool for placing cropped area within image when straighten tool has been used
- More lenses in database (Fuji XF lenses and more)
- More color profiles (Fuji X System and more)
- Speed
- Stability
__________
This is the summary of the requests and ideas submitted so far.
Please continue to add your most requested functions, improvements or ideas you feel the previous contributors have missed, or add your support to the ones already mentioned. It's very important that you continue to submit your requests so the Corel dev team can get their best priorities for ASP.

Re: [After ASP 2.2] What is your 3 most needed functions?
One feature for improvement would be to add the highlight feature for working with jpegs as well as raw images.
Currently, when I shoot jpegs I have to enter another program to make highlight changes. I know some of you will say to always shoot raw but in reality there are times when jpegs make more sense.

Re: [After ASP 2.2] What is your 3 most needed functions?
What I use most which is currently available in form of plugins at least until 2.2 came out are the following tools:
- Perspective correction/straigthening of lines is a must have
- An additional sharpening filter. At the moment using the aftershot sharpening tool as well as wavelet sharpen yields the best results for photos with much details inside. ASP alone is not as powerful.
- A tool for GPS data management is in my eyes getting more and more important
- automatic chromatic aberration control is since long available for othe programs but not for ASP
- Better noise control similar like wavelet DeNoise plugin

Re: [After ASP 2.2] What is your 3 most needed functions?
Hi, new member but I've been using Aftershot since Bibble version 1
My list is all about GUI, toolbars and making the software faster and easier to use and customize. For me some of the lack of functionality in this aspect has been the major factor preventing me from embracing aftershot as my default RAW tool. Version 2 is so good I am using it more than anything else now, but these interface improvements would seal the deal.
1: Make full use of Dual Monitors:
My list is all about GUI, toolbars and making the software faster and easier to use and customize. For me some of the lack of functionality in this aspect has been the major factor preventing me from embracing aftershot as my default RAW tool. Version 2 is so good I am using it more than anything else now, but these interface improvements would seal the deal.
1: Make full use of Dual Monitors:
- - I would like to move folder navigation,(left pane) and thumbnails to my 2nd monitor along with the tool bars that can already be "undocked"
- All of these should be custom re-sizeable. Thumbnails for instance could be a filmstrip up and down, left to right, or a big box with multiple rows based on the size we tab we create.
- Some of the un-dockable tools can not be resized, making them difficult to arrange in a sensible fashion on the 2nd monitor.
- The goal is to have one monitor with the image alone on it, and all navigation and toolbars on the other monitor. If memory serves, I was able to do this in an older version of Bibble, but the function was removed oddly by version 4.
- The tools that stay with the main image window always are the zoom tools, your ratings tools, and hopefully a new big reset button (and "redo" reset!) and or before/after toggle
- - With dual monitors, one in "Portrait" and one in "landscape" it is best to be able to switch back and forth from tow totally opposite custom workspaces.
- If the image being worked on is landscape, then that image would be on the landscape monitor with all tools and navigation on the portrait monitor.
- When editing a portrait orientation image, this should be swapped with one click to the portrait workspace setting putting all tool bars on the landscape monitor and the image alone on the portrait monitor.
- - I would like in particular for the "copy image settings" and "Paste image settings" and related "Settings" to be available in a GUI Toolbar at all times.
- A large UNDO or RESET ALL button should be available and prominent. Add a before/after toggle for easy fast one button comparison.
- Like all toolbars it should be dockable and able to placed within the main view, or on a separate monitor.

Re: [After ASP 2.2] What is your 3 most needed functions?
1- Watermarking built into the app (can't imagine why Corel depends on tintin to develop this plugin rather than just coding it in themselves)
2- multi monitor support.. Adobe Lightroom does this masterfully.. so does Aperture.. view this video on how it should be implemented: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/the-complete- ... y-display/
3- develop Spoilerhead's plugins Wavelet Denoise and Sharpen (which he released as open source code recently) straight into the ASP code without dependance on third party developer.. same could be said about ZPerspective plugin.. Don't know if that dev released code..

1) UI has to use systemstyle! I want, that ASP look on Mac like Mac Programm, under Windows like a windows Programm and under Linux like the desktop environment (of example Unity (ubuntu) with global menu). With QT this is possible!
2) My camera is a "Olympus OM-D E-M1". This is a µFT Camera. With any µFT Camera, you don't need a lensprofile, because the correction data is in the RAW File. Please use these datas!!!!!!!
3) Please bring back the full functionality of the database like in bibble 5!!!

I'd rather see a multi-monitor support in the old Bibble4/CaptureOne style with floating windows and toolboxes. Lightroom's multi-monitor implementation IMO is a PITA, and there are obvious reasons why all the other Adobe products do not make use of this (sorry!) nonsense.skrimaging wrote:2- multi monitor support.. Oh Agreed! Please don't make Aftershot anything like LightRoom.lathspell wrote:I'd rather see a multi-monitor support in the old Bibble4/CaptureOne style with floating windows and toolboxes. Capture one has fantastic dual monitor functionality, as does Photoshop. LR is not at all what i am looking for.

Re: [After ASP 2.2] What is your 3 most needed functions?
1. A stable linux version-Please don't release it until it actually works and the plugins are updated. I understand that you guys aren't responsible for plugins but it's a pretty important part of the work flow for a lot of people. Honestly, I think a lot of plugins should be built into the program anyway. If I have to use mac, I'll use lightroom. I want to use linux and I'd love aftershot to be a contender but it has to work as well as everything else on linux does.
2. Smart albums-It should work exactly like lightroom.
3. Linux drivers for Spyder (for example) hardware. Easy color management would awesome!

Version 2.2.1.64 now allows us to undock the left system browser etc. toolbar. this is a big step in the right direction!
Thank you!
Please don't stop here,
Let me un-dock and move to 2nd monitor the thumbnail strip, and some of the top and bottom tools as well.
Loving the improvement already!

The Plugins differentiate ASP from other products.
These should be viewed as Must Have items not nice extras.
Still learning after all these years!
