Project properties issue

Hi Guys

Im having issues setting my project properties.
Im shooting from a gopro hero4 silver mp4 at 1080 50 fps.
I have ticked the show message thingy in the preferences but when I insert the first clip, it doesn't appear.
I have to go through and manually change it but I can only set it to 1080 50 fps in avi.
Am I doing something wrong?????
Do I need to edit in mp4 as opposed to avi????
I will be rendering to mp4 or avchd 1080 50 fps for my final file.
Although, Im having issues rendering to avchd atm

Any info would be greatly appreciated

The Gopro records its video as an mp4. Are you converting it to avi in another program before importing it to VS?

You don't say which version of Video Studio you are using. If it is the trial version of X8, that is probably why you are having trouble. Corel has severely limited the trial version to the point of it being useless for most purposes. For what it is worth, I have the full version, and it has no trouble matching the Project Properties of my own GoPro footage (also mp4/AVCHD at 50 full fps) and outputting then Same As Project Properties.

Sorry Guys

I have VS x 6 ultimate full version.
I can output to Same as First Clip which is mp4 but cant set the project properties to my desired setting other than in avi

I don't convert to avi before VS
I would much rather keep it as mp4 through the whole process if I could
