VS crashes after redering to AVCHD

Post by mds70 »

Hey Guys

When ever I render to an AVCHD file, VS x 6 Ultimate displays an error message and closes.
My file seems to be saving OK and plays back fine on the PC but not via the USB through the blueray player.
As a matter of fact, Im having issues playing any type of file through it.
Sometimes it can, sometime it cant, but that's another issue.
Anyone had this happen to them? and how was it resolved?

Cheers

You seem to imply that despite the error message, the video renders successfully in the sense that the rendered file will then play on the computer. Can you confirm this? If so, can you tell us the Properties of the original video (right click on a clip in the timeline) and the exact AVCHD Properties you are outputting to? Can you also please tell us what the error message says.

Hi Ken

Yes this is correct.
Will complete successfully and play back from the file in the target folder but if have VS open and click on the same file in the library, VS crashes.
I cant even highlight the thunbnail to delete it.

Original file:

File: Mp4
Frame width: 1920
Frame height: 1080
Data rate: 29005kbps
Total bitrate: 29130kbps
Frame rate: 50 fps

Rendered file:

File: AVCHD Video (.m2t)
Frame width: 1920
Frame height: 1080
Data rate: 22005kbps
Total bitrate: 22389kbps
Frame rate: 50 fps

Error message says:

This program has encountered an unspecific error and has stopped functioning.
Please contact Corel Support and send the dump file for analysis.
C:\User\michael\AppData\Local\Temp\vstudio_16.0.0.106_20150427_18439.DMP

Now I haven't sent this through to Corel Support as yet
I was hoping someone here had come across this before and had an easy solution.

For what its worth, I have un-installed and re-installed VS already, thinking in might resolve the issue
But, to no avail

Cheers

Hi Guys

Bit of an update.

Well first issue was that my computer wasn't recognising my gopro hero 4 which I thought might have been part of the issue.
Still not resolved btw
It recognises my hero3 no problems no issues.

Also, after lots and lots of tests, it seem that I can render anything up until 1280 x 720 in anything up to 120 fps
Any frame size above that is when my issues start.

I tried both my hero 3 and 4 and the issue is across all setting on both cameras above 1280 x 720.

One thing I haven't tried is files from a different camera all together.

Will be my next test.

Any more info would be much appreciated

Cheers

Are these raw camera files and not output from GoPro Studio? Are you working with Protune turned on?

I'm only have X8, so this may not be useful info, but I've tried exporting from a number of different GoPro formats from my Hero 3+ and I don't get that export error.

Hey Guys

Yer raw footage straight from gopro
Protune turned off

FWIW this is the second hero 4 silver i have had
I had to return my first one after ony 2 days due to it freezing up
Am thinking it might be the issue as my computer doesnt regognise the device when connecting via usb.

My only doubt with that is that my hero 3 silver which is recognised still has the issue at 1920 x 1080

Confused
