PlugIn Creativity is Back by Popular Demand

Post by PluginCreativity »

Some of you may remember, or still be using, the plugins we released when Digital Workshop was UK distributor of PaintShop Pro. Obviously they're getting a bit old now but are still useful and we still get requests for them so now we've created a new website at http://www.plugincreativity.net and we're offering them all for free. If we get enough interest we will look into developing new versions.

We'll be adding more resources when we get time, in the meantime. enjoy.

Thanks for providing those. A useful addition!

I would just note that the installation process in my case defaulted to PSP X6. I had to use the Browse function to redirect it to X7. But all of them installed correctly and work just fine, even on my Win 8.1 machine. Others should also bear in mind that they are 32 bit plug-ins so of course will not work in X7 64 bit.

Thanks very much. I was only able to successfully download Splatter. The other downloads were all killed by Symantec citing WS.Reputation.1. More than likely this is a false positive so I have submitted links to all three files to Symantec. Should they agree this is a false positive they will issue updated definitions. Here's a copy of the warning.

Windows itself tried to block two of my original downloads because they were from an "unknown" source, but let the other two through when I chose "run anyway". When I discovered everything had been loaded into X6 and ran the installations again for X7, I got no warning notices.

Doesn't the Restore link on the Symantec page allow you to run it anyway?

Very possible but I'd prefer Symantec to review and white list the files.

I received three emails from Symantec this morning regarding the three false positive submissions I made and they have confirmed there is no danger in the product. the following is copied from the email. Now others using Symantec will not have issues.

Paul - thanks for sharing your products and see the note at the end of the Symantec email regarding software vendors.

In relation to submission [3774188].

The updated detection(s) will be distributed in the next set of virus definitions, available via LiveUpdate or from our website at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/av ... nload.html

Decisions made by Symantec are subject to change if alterations to the Software are made over time or as classification criteria and/or the policy employed by Symantec changes over time to address the evolving landscape.

I had no problem downloading them.
I tried them all and they are brilliant!!!!

Initially the TextArt plugin didn't seem to work, until I disovered this was an installation plugin.
I'm in the process of writing a tutorial dedicated to the plugins, because I really like them.

Thanks for re-launching them.

Thanks to all for your support. Please spread the word so we can as many people interested as possible.

We're aware of a few issues people had with the textArt install and it only installed v1 - for which my apologies. We've upgraded it and it now provides v2.

Anyone who is doing tutorials let us know so we can include details in the newsletter.

Regards,

Paul
