I'm using VideoPro X6 and I have recorded a 20-minute Video Interview as part of an Oral History project I'm undertaking for a National Heritage Site here in UK. The whole interview has been transferred from camera to Computer and imported to VideoPro.
The interview was with a sculptor that produced a new sculpture for the project that was unveiled recently. In the interview she gave me every detail of how the idea came about, where she got the child models from, the full production process and more. It is interesting - but 20 minutes of one person talking gets a bit boring! I want to add in a few still photos she's provided of various stages of the production process. (The internal framework of the sculpture, the casting process, the Patination of the statue after casting, etc.) She refers to each one of these in her narrative.
However, whilst I can comfortably separate Video and Audio Tracks (I've done that before several times) I'm having difficulty in then splitting the Video to be able to add the photos, while allowing her to continue talking over them! The Audio Track wants to split rather than the video! What am I probably doing wrong?
Your guidance will be appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Problems adding photos to video clips
If you split the video but not the audio then the audio after the cut will not be synchronised with the images.
The easiest way would be to leave the video and audio intact and just put the images in the overlay track where you can set them to completely fill the screen or to just a portion if that works better
that way audio remains in sync and un-interrupted throughout.
