materials palette in X2 problem

materials palette in X2 problem
Yeah, I am using Paint Shop pro X2, and when I load pictures from my computer into the software and go to use the Materials palette, it won't let me set different colours, and i end up with a grayscale palette only. What can I do to sort this out?

Is your picture a black and white one?
Try Image > Increase Color Depth > RGB - 8 bits per channel
and see if that fixes it.
