Include all unused trackers in the project

Post by Peem »

Does anyone have any idea exactly what this heading means when it appears alongside a checkbox in the smart package dialogue box?

I have never seen that message and I don't remember any previous mention of it in these forums.

My GUESS is that you have some motion tracking in your project and VideoStudio is simply asking if you want to pack any unused trackers into your smart package or whether you only want to include trackers that you have used.

Brian,
It's one of 2 checkboxes on the 2nd popup window, where you set destination folders etc. I have no motion tracking in my projects. I wonder why I might need to save unused trackers. It's not really a problem, more of interest.
Thanks for your reply, Peter

I have been backing up projects and creating Smart Packages...im truly stumped by this check box... i have motion tracking associated with most of my project clips ... why would i need to save "unused trackers?" Would this grab ALL my saved motion paths every time I smart packaged whether I used them or not? I simply need to save what is specific to each project in that projects folder... and the motion on the clips used in that project so that i can open up the project again at any time in the future. I don't check the box... is that wrong?! Any further explaination is welcome. Thx

Hi

I believe that some messages we receive from the program can be confusing, could be a problem in translation affecting the meaning or simply a typo.

My own opinion -- that wording should read “Include all user trackers in the project”

The word trackers may also confuse but I cannot think of a better option at the moment.

And what does “Include all user trackers in the project” do?

We create a BMP as a Mask to add and use via the Chroma Key options.
That BMP may be needed when creating the Smart Package, not a problem when opening the project on same PC.
Move the Smart Package to another pc and the BMP does not exist, unless we “Include all user trackers in the project”
The bmp will be added to the Smart Package folder and available on other computers.

Personally I select that option, when I remember to tick the box.

Has this been answered? There is supposition in here but, from what I can tell, no definitive answer. Corel doesn't even make mention of it in the User Guide or Help Topics. I think Corel needs help. :(
