Adding photos with the same length

Post by pdxrjt »

Hi, I'm using Video Studio Pro X7 and the help files and "Picture Yourself ...... VideoStudio ProX5" in order to get me up and running. I am essentially making a slide show. Let's say I have a 4 minute section of audio and I want to add 40 pics and make each 6 seconds long..... is there a way to do that and if so, how? When I just drag the pics in they are all too long and I don't see a way of "batch editing" their times. I will also add transitional effects when I am done. TIA for help.

ps You could also tell me where to look in the help files, I have searched several times to no avail.

If you have not yet put the photos in the timeline then go to "Settings >> Preferences" and in the preferences window change to the 'Edit' tab at the top - then near the top look for 'Default color/Image duration' and change that to 6 - from there on every image you insert will be 6 seconds long - until you change that again.

If the images are already in the timeline - left click on the first one to select it - go to the last image and hold down the shift key while you select it - all images will be selected - RIGHT click on the selected block and from the pop up choose "Change Photo duration" - a small window will appear allowing you to change the third figure (secs) to 6

To change the figures in the small clock highlight the number by left clicking next to it and dragging across it so it is highlighted in blue - then type the new number in.

BUT - if you are going to add transitions later remember that each transition will effectively shorten the clip by the length of the transition - so putting a 2 second transition at each end of an image it will effectively shorten it by 4 seconds

When I do that, change photo duration is greyed out.

So - you have the images in the overlay track then ?

IF so then the only way I know how to do them all together is to select all - push the whole block up into the top track - then use the right click option to access the change duration option - then drag the whole block back down to the overlay track .

If you can't do that then you must delete all the images - change the duration setting in preferences - then insert the images again

Other than that you can change the images one at a time by using the duration setting in the 'Options' panel
