Output formats for Facebook and Instagram

Post by DavidPDX »

I have VS X7. I'm trying to create short videos that can be uploaded to Facebook and Instagram. When I try to upload to FB it won't load and I get a message the file is damaged. How do others do it. Are there "custom" settings that work? Thx

You haven't told us which format you are trying to upload to youtube - I always use mpeg-4 and have no problem

I have no knowledge of Instagram but I notice the "mobile device" option also offers some mpeg-4 options

Actually, Brian, David said Facebook and not YouTube... but the answer is still the same. Facebook, like YouTube, "prefers" mp4, but can also accept a very wide variety of other formats: https://www.facebook.com/help/218673814818907
