Resizing program window (ASP 2 for Mac)

Post by rustrans »

How do i resize the program window?
So the bottom edge stays above the dock and NOT like this (behind the dock):
Image

Seems to be a dead simple task, but!

1. There are no regular window control buttons which ANY OTHER application on my mac has
Image

2. You can't drag and slide the window in any direction, the window just would NOT respond to clicking and sliding as ANY OTHER application on my mac would

3. You can't click and drag any border of the window to resize it but you can with ANY OTHER application on my mac

4. You can't use any window resize utility like Spectacle that can control ANY OTHER application on my mac.

I spent 2 hours trying to troubleshoot a task that would take me literally 2 seconds to complete with any other application on my mac.

Is there a solution to this problem?

F11?
View->Full Screen?

There is a difference between full screen via the Window manager and Full screen via the application which gets rid of any ow the WM decorations to control the window.

Works exactly like other applications that support real fullscreen (for example firefox).

No - I had this happen too. Everything was fine (normal behavior). Now when I start Corel ASP2, my close, minimize and maximize buttons are not colored. I can't move the window. Really annoying!
I've removed all files and re-installed, but that didn't seem to help.
The only thing I can think is I added a new monitor (32" samsung). I'll take it out of the mix and see if that makes a difference.

Yes, this is on a Mac (10.10.3, mbp, early 2015).... I disconnected the display, rebooted, removed ASP2, reinstalled it to mo avail. Here's how it looks with ASP window selected - note- no colored balls in upper left for close, minimize and maximize. When you mouse over, you see a black x, _ and max symbol and you can sort of perform those functions but you can't reposition the window by dragging.

It's the oddest thing. I'm about to dump this and go to something else! :(

Here is the full screen:

Here is the full screen with mouse pointer at the top of the screen and Mac menu bar exposed:

And here is the way the program starts in normal non-full screen view:

So there are no buttons at all to control window size of the program. And as you can see, the way the program starts it now has bottom part covered by the Mac dock. I want at least to be able to resize the program to stay above the dock but of course the proper way would be to let users resize the program window any way they want!

When i press F11 I see the desktop. Because that's what my F11 is set to. And when I disable this shortcut in Keyboard properties, F11 does nothing in ASP.
When i go to View - Full Screen i see the full screen as in the 1st screenshot i posted in my previous message.

The same behaviour can be exhibited in my installation of ASP2.2 as well.

One method to fix this is to change the screen resolution down to a lower setting. For example, in my case I am using an Apple Cinema Display HD 30" with a resolution of 2560x1600. When setting the resolution down to 1600x1200, the window has been downsized. Restoring the resolution to 2560x1600 now shows a small ASP window.
