Hi
Ok I am just about to install the main 64 bit program.
Then I will let you know what features it has.

Hi
I have taken a snapshot of each library first page and uploaded to my web site
These are what I see after installing the main file.

Re: VSX8 Ultimate Upgrade from X7- missing transitions
Okay, so after the uninstall, and just the install of the main 64-bit folder, looks like I have ALL transitions, but obviously not all of the Video FX, since they are located on Bonus disc 3.
I'm almost willing to guarantee that's where the issue is.
Waiting to hear from you, lata.

Re: VSX8 Ultimate Upgrade from X7- missing transitions
So now, I assume I should install VideoStudioX8_2Contents folder, then follow by installing VideoStudioUltimateX8_64bit_3Bonus folder?
I will even reboot in-between, just for fun.

Yes, I did.lata wrote:Hi

Yes I will also install the Contents 2 file.
Now, after install of Contents 2 file and reboot, the Media, Instant Project, and Graphic libraries look like they have more content.
Filter (FX), and transition libraries remain the same (all transitions, and the basic Video FX).
I will now install VideoStudioUltimateX8_64bit_3Bonus files, and see if they install all the video FX goodies (Adorage, Mercalli, Prodad, etc), and corrupt/delete Transitions again.
I am making sure VSX8 program is closed, before installing VideoStudioUltimateX8_64bit_3Bonus files, and will even reboot after installation.
Will update.

I am part way installing the Bonus pack, my better half says the meal is ready so wont be able to reply for a while.
Before you run VS X8 again, make a copy of the Folder 18.0 from :-
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\18.0

Re: VSX8 Ultimate Upgrade from X7- missing transitions
We are good to go!
Looks like an uninstall/ re-install was the trick.
I even took the extra step of re- downloading the VideoStudioUltimateX8_64bit_3Bonus link, from my original purchase e-mail, and saved it to desktop (all other files were downloaded to my "Downloads" folder).
I re-installed from the Desktop file, JUST IN CASE the original one got corrupt in the first download.
Thank you Trevor, for all your help.
Hopefully this will help others, who are experiencing the same issues.
Have a great (rest of) weekend, all!

Re: VSX8 Ultimate Upgrade from X7- missing transitions
I'm not sure if this is related, however - I just realized that CorelDraw won't run now. I'm not saying that installed VSX8 had anything to do with it, but...
NOTE: I just ran the installation program from the CorelDraw disk and it was able to "repair" my previous installation, so all is good. I'm not sure what I would have done if I hadn't remembered where I put the disks, though!

Re: VSX8 Ultimate Upgrade from X7- missing transitions
Which version of Corel DRAW do you have? I ask since I notice you are running Windows 8.1. My latest version of the Corel DRAW suite is version 14, which is getting a bit old now though it does everything I want. However, when I installed it on my Win 8.1 computer, it froze a number of other programs, including VS X7 (which was the current version at the time). I hurriedly uninstalled DRAW, and IIRC also did a System Restore just in case, and got the functionality of the other programs back. Now I just have DRAW on a Win 7 machine where it works happily with all other programs, including both VS X7 and X8...
My point being, though, that I suspect there is some interaction -- though I have no idea how -- between VS, DRAW and Windows 8.1...

Re: VSX8 Ultimate Upgrade from X7- missing transitions
I am still using CDX3. Never had any problems with running VSX7 and CDX3 on the same machine, though.
My reason for going to VSX8 was simple - though I just bought and installed VSX7 about six weeks ago, I found myself with an enormous project when my mother died and I wanted to put together a presentation for a celebration of her life. I had about 1100 photos (!), and keeping track of what I had used was a nightmare. When I found that VSX8 finally had somewhat of a solution for that, I upgraded.
It is working now, and I managed to finish the project. I hope Corel continues to improve VS!

Hi hrpufnstuf65
That’s great you have managed to install correctly.
Maybe the Bonus file was at fault and the new download did the trick.
Copy / save the files along with the serial numbers, I save to Bluray disc because of the sizes. Always worth backing up.
