How set "[jobname]" and how sort files?

Post by Quacero »

Hello,

I would like to import my photos from the SD memory card (or any folder). The files are saved as raw data and must be imported in the file system and in the library.

Furthermore, befor i import, I would like to place a [jobname] , so I can archive the images in another subfolder . But where I set the jobname?

Under which menu item is hidden and also i cant find, how i sort files.

My workflow should look with ASP2 as follows :
  • 01. images are viewed on the SD memory card , sorted out and get metadata , such as . [ jobname ]
  • 02. The images are imported into the library and the file system. ( the physical path looks something like this : X: \Images\YYYY\jobname\jobname_counter_yyyy - mm - dd.cr2) The library then means, for example . "Customers" and is available.
  • 03. The files are processed and for print, the Internet, or whatever.
Unfortunately I can not do this with ASP2 . :- (

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely yours

Not very efficient.
I suggest download first and then first culling and keywording.
Otherwise you work on a very slow medium and need to copy stuff later in a manual process.
02. The images are imported into the library and the file system. ( the physical path looks something like this : X: \Images\YYYY\jobname\jobname_counter_yyyy - mm - dd.cr2) The library then means, for example . "Customers" and is available.
Create a download or ingest batch queue.
Then right click on the mount point of the SD card and send the SD card to that queue. The queue will ask for a jobname and put the files in the right place.
Here is an example queue setup:

03. The files are processed and for print, the Internet, or whatever.
Create appropriate batch queues and assign them hotkeys. Note, a batch queue can output to multiple formats if needed.

Thanks for the useful tips. The workflow is much better than mine.

And I can do anything in a script. really good!

All steps can I make with only 4 buttons at very high speed.

I am now a ASP2 fan;-)
