Videostudio X5 video is very grainy!

I have Videostudio X5 Ultimate and the last several files or dvd's that I have made have very grainy, almost blury video on them. Even as I am in the edit process, the videos are grainy. I have added my media files to VSX5 from my PC library by double clicking the icons in the library. They are mostly files recorded on a Gopro Hero 4 Silver. When I simply watch the Gopro files on my pc, they are crystal clear, but as soon as I add them to VSX5 and begin a project, they are grainy. When I hit the pause button on VSX5, the grainy video pauses to a crystal clear image, and when I hit play again, it again plays grainy. I didn't seem to notice this as bad, (although it is still noticeable) in older projects when most video files I used were from another camera. And all of the still images that I use in projects are always clear.
