Folder Problem

Post by Quick_Silver »

So far I haven't done much with PSP X7 Ultimate having obtained it fairly recently. I created a folder for it within My Documents and placed some tutorials for the programme there.

However the other day I noticed another folder has appeared in My Documents entitled 'Corel PaintShop Pro'. I have no idea where that folder came from as I never put it there and I am the only user of this PC. When I opened the folder I found that it contained another 24 folders named – Brushes, Bump Maps, CMYK Profiles etc: These folders are all empty save one called Presets which has two files in it named

Preset_Crop_Last Applied.PspScript - and -
Preset_ObjectRemover_Last Applied.PspScript.

I am frightened to delete any of them as I don't know if they are needed by the programme or not. I've done a search in AppData and can't see anywhere there where I could put them.
Can anyone advise me about this? I would be grateful for any help given.

Those folders are created automatically when you install your PSP. In older versions, the set of folders was called MyPSPFiles or something like that. Now, you have Corel Paintshop Pro and inside, you likely have a 17.0 folder (if you had installed X6, you would also have a 16.0 folder).

They are normally empty when installed. The preset files you had might mean that you just created some presets and whatever you create (presets, tubes, workspace, brushes) will be saved in those folders, by default.

Ah all is now clear. Thank you so much Cassel. I do indeed have a 17.0 folder inside the Corel Paintshop Pro folder.
I think what threw me was the fact that I only just noticed this folder and didn't realise that it had been created on installation of the programme. I won't worry about it anymore.

Thanks again for your helpful reply.
