Is there anything in Aftershot Pro 2 similar to the "auto mask" option in Lightroom?
i.e. something that will allow selecting areas of similar tone etc. a bit easier.
I came across this video, demonstrating a particular use of this Lightroom tool.

I often have trouble effectively selecting areas to "dodge/burn" in ASP2. Are there any other methods available in ASP2?
Sorry for the Lightroom reference, but I am trying to learn post-processing and there are so many videos out there for Lightroom. I just try to work out how to do the the general technique in ASP2, but I haven't worked this one out.

Unfortunately, AS does not have any auto masking functions.
Depending on the region, I personally find Bezier regions often more efficient than brushed ones.
cheers

Thanks for the reply AFX
Are you saying you use the Bez plugin to universally adjust region/s of the image of a particular tone?
e.g. If I have a portrait (of a caucasian) and I want to lighten/increase the exposure on the face. I use the midtones or greys slider or something on the entire image? i.e. the "region" is the "region of the histogram" I want to adjust?
Or are you still selecting a region/area of the image somehow to apply the Bez plugin to just that region/area?
I don't understand what you mean by "Bezier regions"afx wrote: I personally find Bezier regions often more efficient than brushed ones.

I think a "Bezier region" is what you draw with the "Curve tool" in "Layers".

The curved regions in the layer tool are based on Bezier curves. They make marking larger irregular areas faster than the brush. Not a substitute for an Autobrush, but often better than a regular brush.D L wrote:I don't understand what you mean by "Bezier regions"
