I get no option/Icon for burning a DVD or BD when I select Share after editing an MP4 video with the X8 trial. Is that missing from the trial?

Unfortunately -- and totally stupidly on Corel's part -- the answer is "yes -- they did not include that" and a whole pile of other things which used to be included in the trial versions of previous versions. They are supposed to be attracting new buyers by allowing only the most basic editing, and not including the most popular formats and functions. We have been told it is because these other things cost money, and so they are only including functions which are run by Windows-installed codecs, not those installed by VS. But that also includes things like DVD burners (which I would have thought to be absolutely basic these days), and of course the Blu-Ray burner which they now have decided to apply a cost to if your buy the full version of X8. That being said, I have the full version of X8 and am quite happy with it!

Unfortunately Corel have taken the decision to remove the Authoring options from the trial, there is no Burner Module for DVD or Bluray.
It is however provided with the full version, at an extra cost for the Bluray option.
I would suggest you contact Corel for their comments on this decision?
We do feel the limitations Corel have put on the trial may have gone a little to far.
but most if not all of the options from the Edit is functional, other than the limited timeline to one overlaytrack.
