I show the performance tab because it lists the HD Games template I created. I think I am putting two and two together now. The HD Games template I setup on the performance tab is solely for the proxy file. Hence, why it is captioned "Video proxy options" above the template details. See, this is why I am posting here; to learn! Thanks!

Do not store proxy files along with your video files. Doing so will only confuse you further.
First clean / purge your proxy folder.
Go to Settings Smart Proxy – Smart Proxy Manager- Select all – Delete selected proxy files. Change the Proxy folders location to another folder.
I didn't think having the proxy files in the same location would cause issues. I checked the Smart Proxy Manager and the list is empty. Do you recommend placing the proxy files just in a different folder or to move it off of the D drive completely to the C drive?

Go to Settings Preferences – tick Show Messages when inserting First Video.
Start a new project, add one of your Mpeg4 video files.
You should get a message to match the properties choose yes.
Go to Settings Project Properties – copy and paste the details in the right hand panel to this forum.
Are you able to do that?
I checked the show messages box, but I don't get the message to match the project settings if I have my HD Games Project Properties template pre-selected. So, my template must be compatible. If I change my project properties template to my DVD Games template (non-HD basically) then I am prompted with the change box. I attached a screenshot. I had to scroll the both columns down in the box to get the bottom lines but the top line for both read MPEG-4 files.

If recheck and recheck... maybe ~6 frames delay
While the entire in-game audio is off, go to 1:15 of the video I referenced. I collect two coins right there. You'll notice the "chime" comes seconds after collection when it should be at the exact same time. I do a cut at 20:00 and then again at 20:33. These cuts, however, I do not use transitions to keep the commentary aligned. It is a direct cut to the next section of the video.
Well, I don't know your end, but here the chimes are on the spot or ~6 frames delay

On my end there is a very noticeable delay between the coin collection and the chimes.

dpack4, in what format did you upload the video to youTube? When I download the video I am offered 6 video formats to choose from. I tried several and they all have the delay.
You said that the video plays correctly on your syste. That means that youTube is doing something to the video to create the delay.
Have you uploaded the video without the "intro" you talked about earlier?

Hi

Yep I see the delay in audio throughout the video, as you say noticeable when picking coins.

I notice the frame rate using 29.94 rather than 29.97, not much of a difference, I don’t know what affect that would have.

Can you try the project properties using 29.97 fps.

MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 15000 Kbps
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 256 Kbps

The Mobile option should do that, edit the template to increase the data rate to 15000ish.
Then render the video using the same Mpeg4 Profile.

Difficult to say whats going wrong when it only shows after uploading to YT?

Yay! I'm not crazy!

The source HD file, intro video, and completed rendered videos are all in MP4 format.

Agreed. YouTube, however, does not have issues with the MP4 rendered from WLMM. Strange.

Haven't gotten to this yet. I plan to do this soon.

The Project Properties template I created when I started using CVS is close to your suggestion. I'll try tweaking it to your specs.

I rendered another video with the new project settings. Once uploaded to YouTube, it worked! At least, this one video did. The in-game audio and commentary remained in sync. I need to do at least four or five more videos using the same settings to see if the results are the same. Leaving Smart Render checked did not create an issue. Here are screenshots of both. Oh, and when CVS asked to change the project properties to match the video when importing to the track, I told it no to force it to adhere to the HD Games template.

Hi

Good that you have managed to correct the audio issue.

Normally when using Show Messages, choosing Yes is probably the best option.

I notice from your images that your HD Games template has been modified to match the Project Properties so “yes” would have been suitable?
When you see that message, press Details will show the properties of the video being used, always worth checking to make sure they are as expected?

As a side note….. Show Messages will not appear if the properties are already set as the video being used.

Settings Movie Profile Manager.

Now you have a good video file create your own profile,.

Choose Format as Mpeg4
Using the Add option will allow you to copy the properties of your video file.
Give it a suitable name
The profile will be available from Share – Mpeg4 – Profiles.

The couple of videos I rendered with all the previous settings in this thread worked for a short time, but then it started messing up the audio again once uploaded to YouTube. What I configured was not the permanent fix. I did, however, found the hands down way of compiling the MP4 into a file YouTube accepts perfectly every time. On the Share tab, instead of using the Computer as destination, I select Web and YouTube. In the Upload Project field, I select MPEG-4 (1920 x 1080, 30p, 8Mbps) and allow CVS to upload the file after creation. Using this as the output instead of manually configuring settings works for every file. I have yet to have it mess up and I've created several videos.

I now use CVS for all video editing and computer screen captures, as well as, voice-overs. Yes, I'm still performing post-commentary on videos I know I need to split and cut, but it allows me to get the video track exactly the way I want it with transitions (no ripple editing error messages) and setting the volume level to an exact value. In Windows Live Movie Maker, setting the volume is a slider bar. You have to eyeball it. C'mon Microsoft!

I just wish Corel would code CVS to take advantage of the GPU to assist with the final rendering. I have a decent video card (NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 2GB). When monitoring with Task Manager and GPU-Z, CVS is only using all the processor cores to render the video. The GPU is idle during the entire rendering process. I am using the latest version of the NIVIDIA driver and have read up on NIVIDIA changing CUDA. I did go get the DLLs from another post and placed them in the Windows\System32 folder but it made no difference. GPU is still idle. I even read where CyberLink had a patch released for PowerDirector concerning this specific reason once NVIDIA made the CUDA change. Corel needs to catch up. I haven't seen anyone say this was resolved with CVS X8 either.
