I'm running a 64-bit machine with Windows 7 and am currently running 64-bit PSP, although the 32-bit copy was installed also during the installation process.
I don't have much money to spend at the moment on things like plugins, and I haven't had much luck with freeware ones working with X7 -- actually the only one I've tried so far has been Noiseware Community Edition and it doesn't even show up, so not much good there.
Anyway, I did a search on this topic and didn't come up with much of anything, so I thought I'd toss it out to the folks on the forum. I used to use Noise Ninja with PSP X2 on another machine and it worked pretty well at getting rid of noise without loss of too much detail. Better than X2, in some respects.
I'm most interested in a noise-reduction plugin in both 32-bit and 64-bit. But if it's just 32-bit, I can live with it. So, got any favorites?

A plug in is not essential. If you have 'play' with Adjust/Digital Noise Removal you can get some good results. Not the worlds best but neither is it terrible.

I didn't think the noiseware plugin was included in the community edition. I thought community edition was only the standalone. Go figure.
But, I was able to get the plugins to show up, but they caused an access error violation so they didn't work.

I still have Noise Ninja installed for PSP and Photoshop, but it has not worked correctly in PSP 13 and 16 (still on 16). "Photo Ninja" is now the more encompassing product from PictureCode.com.cooltouch wrote: I used to use Noise Ninja with PSP X2 on another machine and it worked pretty well at getting rid of noise without loss of too much detail. Try the built-in noise reduction functionality. It is not bad.
For a plug-in I like the Nik plug-ins now owned by Google. Not free, but a good price for the whole suite.

I was going to suggest my favorite, Topaz DeNoise, THEN I remembered the OP requested CHEAP! Too bad! you'll never know WHY its my favorite.
To be fair to PSP the built in noise controls aren't that bad, its their user interface that kind of stinks. The anti-noise UI is obtuse and discourages people from even trying to learn them. I would love for Corel to rethink the UI of some specific controls in PSP. A redesign of some of them would make PSP X8 or X9 feel like a major rewrite!

Well, I'm just getting back to responding to your responses, and it's just as well, because in the interim I've had to use the one that's included. And you're right, it does work pretty well, once you get used to the rather obtuse and non-intuitive interface provided. Yes, I wouldn't mind something better. You know, the old Noise Ninja that I used to use was very flexible. I had a very high level of control over both luminance and chrominance noise reduction. It would be nice to see Corel do something similar.
Best,
