VS7 pro will not render sound on most .MOV files
All my 2014 video was taken with a Nikon camera which produces .MOV video. I can edit them and preview them fine but rendering them to any format created static in the sound on most of the clips (the video frame by frame looks fine) It crashes VS on some clips. If I convert theclips to any other format first they render fine (with quality loss) This would take weeks to redo all over again if there is not fix for this. Why is VS not rendering these files correctly? Do you have a work around that doesn't require replacing all my clips? I can place the clip on Youtube if you like to try it. I have the version 7.7.5 of Quicktime installed. VS said something bout this is a later version and VS will stop installation. I don't know what it did but it finished and ran. Does VS7 required an earlier version of QT?

Did you try extracting the sound to a separate audio track with Split Audio and seeing if that helps?

Hi vidcomp
And welcome to the forums.
First please update QuickTime to the latest version, let us know if that cures your playback issues. The latest is 7.7.6
Then unfortunately I would suspect your audio drivers????
Mov Playback issues, not poor audio quality….
Corel have provided some hot fixes for Mov and MP4 type video, try searching the Corel Guide, unfortunately I have had problems using the Knowledge base of late???
I have uploaded some fixes to my One Drive, there was a series of fixes using the same file.
Please make sure you create a copy of your original file before replacing with the ones provided, saves re-installing the program?

Hope this helps

Re: VS7 pro will not render sound on most .MOV files
Thanks Trevor,
I applied the X64 version of the latest MOV fixes and it solved the problem. This saves me weeks of workaround! My faith in VS is restored.
