PSP X6 Update Offer, Genuine

Post by Eurostar27 »

I had to do another fresh post because the last one has gone dead? Maybe no longer interested? Just to say, the offer of X6 for 12.99 GBP came up ONLY once, last Sunday. I was going to purchase, but IE crashed (froze). When I re-started and tried again, the offer changed back to 59.99 GBP, and has remained at that price? I still get the offer boxes appear when I click on update, in my version PSP X2? I did phone the UK phone support Monday, but they were NOT aware of this offer, and even told me to treat this with caution, and check my PC security!!! Very unusual? I wish a few more people would get back to me on this, and also if anyone was successful in getting X6 at this special offer price?
CORELS PIRACY WARNING. How to recognize piracy- Check prices- Be WARY if the discount is more than 50% off!!!
From 59.99 GBP to 12.99, WARY, YES!?

I don't understand what you mean by "the previous post has gone dead" - your previous topic on this subject is still very much alive and available for posting to - in fact Ken posted only three days ago - you can continue that conversation here :- http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=56216

Sorry, not dead. But because (what I feel is a serious issue) no reply for a few days, I thought that people were thinking that I was too alarmist? I should allow more time for replies. Anyway, keep this one open as it is a more serious subject.

...And I can only repeat what I have already said in that other thread... I don't find anything strange at all about them trying to clear their shelves of a now outdated program by offering it at a bargain basement price!

I know you contacted Corel UK, but in the twelve or more years I have been using Corel products, I have been aware of a huge variety of offers made by Corel for the same product with prices varying widely in different parts of the world. And also of offers which don't last all that long. Decisions to make such offers are not made in individual countries, as far as I am aware, but are most likely taken in corporate headquarters in Canada or the US. And believe me when I say that Corel over the years has most definitely NOT been a company where one can have any confidence in one department knowing what another department is doing or offering...!

Now as I also said in that other thread, I have no idea why some of us are able to log onto a page showing the cheap price, and are able to do so repeatedly, whereas you are apparently being locked out of it. It could be because of some arcane rule of the European Union or even UK law. But whatever it is, I don't believe it is any form of piracy as you seem to think.

Latest. The 12.99 GBP X6 update link came up last night, and I went through the purchase process. Yes, the X6 update offer IS genuine. I have been affected by web fraud and other scams, so you can't be too cautious. Example, I have been getting loads of scam phone calls, so bad that I had to put an instant message on my phone ''The number you have dialled has not been recognised ..........''. This has worked, and I hardly get any scam callers. What sort of world do we live in, having go to such extremes to avoid this! Even when I phoned Corel Sales in the UK, they were not aware of the X6 offer, and told me to be cautious! How can they not be aware of their offers!? Corel also warns of website piracy! In my view, Corel and Cleverbridge needs to get their act together and sort out their communication problems. For Corel to make an offer, and then tell you to be wary of it, is unbelievable! You may think I am overly cautious, even paranoid? NO, NO, NO, from my experience you can NOT be too careful! This is now resolved, and I can get on with my photo editing with the new features in PSP Photo X6. A huge update from X2, and yes, a REAL bargain! My thanks to Ken, for his time and reassurance.

Off topic a little Eurostar - but can I recommend to you the new BT8500 phone - stopped all my spam and nuisance calls - even those "International" ones which previously seemed impossible to block.

Thanks Brian. I will certainly look into that BT phone, and check on the internet. My name is Richard. I need to update my profile.
