PSPX7 trial won't install

Hi there

Recently I had to reinstall Windows due to a virus. I had the full version of PSPx6 and trial of x7 running just fine. After the reinstall, x6 works but x7 will NOT install. It stops at 12% after it starts checking runtime C++ 2012. Now, I've reinstalled this several times to no avail.

A pop up screen appears.....

1: setup.msi: this installation cannot be run by directly launching the MSI package. You must run Setup.exe

Well that's EXACTLY what I'm running it from: the setup i downloaded from Corel who are absolutely no help by the way. Anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

Did you try downloading the trial again or are you using the first file you downloaded?

yep...I tried both with the first version I downloaded then with a version I downloaded yesterday. I thought that maybe it was an inherent fault that might've been fixed in an update but it's not the case. PSPx6 works without a problem and I had no problem installing it. What I HAVE noticed is that anything I try to install now that has anything to do with vb runtime or c++ tends to fail. A good example is anything running the unreal engine. A similar thing occurs. The installer gets to a certain point and stops. I've run full virus,malware checks etc. and found nothing.ALL my drivers are up to date and the bios is the latest for my MB. I also tried updating directX and graphic drivers but still no go. It's a mystery.
