VS X8 hangs with blank screen during startup

My VS X8, when launching, gets stuck at a blank screen right after entering my email address. I've tried running as Administrator and as my regular user, I get the same behavior both times. I've tried reinstalling and rebooting, but no change. I"ve tried a couple different email addresses, but no difference. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.

If I close the screen, then VS X8 closes. I can't find any way to get the application to continue running.

I've attached a screenshot of this blank screen. This is a trial install, in case it makes a difference.

But do you also get a message, like that other post, about a later version of QuickTime? If so, did you click OK as suggested in that post?

I assume you have installed the trial and trying to run the program…
That blank image does not give much info…

Can you post the image of the screen that requests your e-mail address.

Does that screen have other boxes to fill, maybe Company, insert Home.

When you enter the e-mail address are you using your Corel account e-mail address.
If using a different one then it should create a new account for you?

Attached is a screenshot of the registration screen. I entered a valid email, in fact this same email works with VS X8 on a friend's computer after it wasn't working on my computer, so I know the email didn't "expire" or get "locked".

Also, I am connected to the Internet. I turned off my McAfee firewall temporarily, but it made no difference. My Control Panel Display size of text is 100%.

I've tried the following to no avail:
- entering in a valid email -> blank window
- entering in an invalid email -> blank window
- closing registration page: VS X8 closes
- running as Administrator -> blank window

During the first time I installed VS X8, I did get a QuickTime warning, saying the installed version is newer than the one installed by VS X8. I uninstalled QuickTime and Apple Application Support, then installed VS X8, letting it install its versions instead.

I have currently installed:
- VS X8 18.0.1.26
- Adobe Flash Player 16 ActiveX and NPAPI installed, version 16.0.0.305.
- QuickTime 7.74.80.86
- Apple Application Support 2.3.4

Hi

The trial program seems to require a registration before running the program.
Suppose you don’t have internet connection then it cannot connect to the Corel.
Now it should give the option to register at a later time, allowing the program to start.
I cannot check that unless I install the trial.

Disconnect the internet and then try to start the program, you may get the option to register by phone or later?

It may be a problem with your browser, I think Corel would use Internet Explorer for the connection?
What do you use for your default browser?

I disconnected my Internet, and VS X8 displays a "Welcome to your free 30-day trial" window followed by a registration window indicating it could not connect. By selecting the "register later" option, VS X8 comes up successfully. I then re-enabled Internet and it seemed fine.

I've attached the screen shots.

I tried resetting IE to be the default browser, but it made no difference. I'm running IE 11, version 11.0.9600.17691.

I normally use Chrome as my default browser, and also have Firefox and IE browsers installed on the system.

I take if from your reply that the licensed version won't have this same issue, so once I purchase it, I should be able to launch VS X8 even with my Internet connected.

Hi

The full purchased version should run and open ok, but to access the Corel Guide you have to register the program, and that requires an internet connection.
The Corel Guide gives you access to additional template Downloads.

So I guess you may have a similar problem. I would suggest you try to fix this.

Is your Firewall stopping Video Studio accessing the internet.?
Or your Virus software may control internet connections?
