rendering problem X7

Post by hanskru »

Dear fellows,

I have a rendering problem in X7.
After editing my video, I want to make a video file in the same property settings as the clips, but rendering crashes.
Format clips PAL HDMV, videotypt H.264 Video, 24bits, 1440x1080, 16:9.

Also when I try the rendering in another format like MPEG2 or MPEG4, than the VS crashes ( according tp task control: no reaction).

Had you set Preferences to show a Message when you insert the first such video file? If so, when you went to share, did your choose Same As Project Properties or Same As First Video?

Hi Ken,

It appears that some files are MPEG-4 format while the others are in MTS format.
Rendering crashes when it encounters a MPEG-4 file.

Any suggestion how I can render these MPEG-4 files?

Thanks in advance

Hans

First off, where did those mpeg-4 files come from? You may have seen in some recent posts that some recent smartphones film video in mpeg-4 but using a variable frame rate which Video Studio cannot deal with. It wants 'standard' frame rates such as 25/50 fps (PAL) or 30/60 (NTSC). Can you right click on one of the problem clips in the VS timeline or library window and copy ALL its Properties here please, or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.

All we can suggest in these cases is to convert the mpeg-4 clips with a third part video converter program. A number of us here use the freeware Format Factory, which does a good job -- though in installing it you have to watch every page of the process and decline all the extra software (toolbars etc) that if offers to install as well.

Hi Ken,

thanks.
I separated the MPEG4 files and made viodeo files and inserted them back into the timeline and was able to make one videofile.

The MPEG4 files came from a JVC PIC510 camera.

Thanks for your replies
