I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but FWIW I have just installed the update, and X7 started and was ready for use in 6 seconds...

Installed the update..... my PSP X7 opened in about 5-6 seconds.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.

I just did a "check for updates" and message returned "no updates available". I have ver. 17.1.0.72 which is not the latest version. Should be 17.2.0.16. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have no idea why you got this message, but of course you can go to Corel.com and get the update from there or go direct to this link: http://www.paintshoppro.com/en/support/updates/

Some users wait for new updates to solve their problems that are in PSP. Either some wrong functionality or slow responsiveness...

Seriously, I miss one thing at every question and answer and that is a version number of PaintShop Pro. So we can easily know what we speaking about. :?

For me the issue is that each time I exit from PSP X7... I get the message telling me that there is an update. I accept the update and it downloads it, tries to install it... and finally tells me that there is no update for the moment.

I know that there is no update for the moment since... I have already installed the 17.2.0.16 update! The persistence of this message means that there is an issue in the detection of the actually installed release. And that perpetual USELESS message (once the update is done) is boring as hell. And I don't know how to get rid of it because if I deactivate the messages for updates... I shall not receive any more this message for REAL future updates.

Is there a solution to fix that issue ? Even by a modification in the Windows Registry I take it.

Thank you!

Have you tried turning off automatic updates?

Help -> Message Preferences

Turn off "Automatically download free product updates"

All this means is you'll have to visit the forums every so often or the patches page of Corel to manually download the updates but they should hopefully stop bugging you.

If this doesn't work you might try deleting the temporary message and download data from the ProgramData folder.

Hello LeviFiction

First: Thank you for your answer.

But it is not a solution, because as I said: if I deactivate the messages for updates... I shall not receive any more this message for REAL future updates. It would be far better that Corel fixes that issue of a "false positive" detection, or at least gives the technique which corrects the bad value which is probably somewhere in the Registry.

Anyone know if this fixes the chroma subsmpling issue?

I'm sort of on strike. I'm not upgrading to X7 or whatever version until they fix it.
