Question about using Textures
I am working with a project about Egypt and downloaded some free papyrus textures which include appropriate colors (they are not grey scale.) I would like to create a small swatch of the texture to paste onto a page. I read the help files about creating a new page (which I do frequently) and also about using textures, but have had no luck. One method I try is to select "New" image, select rastor background, color depth RGB 8 or 16, select a tan color, go to texture, click add texture, select the papyrus texture the new image and create. The image created is almost transparent, you can see virtually all of the transparent square marks in the background. I have also tried creating a tan image and adding texture with the fill paint brush.... so I select the texture with the fore or background color and click on the image. There is no real change in it I can see and certainly none of the texture I am hoping for. So, any clues about what I should do or what I should look at in the help files? I am using PSP X7. Thanks.

Re: Question about using Textures
There are many and varied ways of using textures in PaintShop Pro. My advice is to google, how to add and use textures in paintshop pro. There are a lot of tutorials and videos that may help you.

Re: Question about using Textures
What file format are the texture images? Why not just open them in PSP as regular images and crop them or resize them to the size that you want for your swatches? If they are tiling textures, I think you'd get better results by using the Flood Fill tool rather than texture setting.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

Re: Question about using Textures
Great thought..... I opened the Papyrus I liked best and resized it. Worked like a charmed. Thanks for the thoughts.
