Hello,
I have some recorded footage of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010) recorded with Bandicam. You can see the information here: http://prntscr.com/6htn2n
As you can see, the playback image is highly distorted, and the footage does not look like this while previewing outside of VSX8, and also - while playing the 'clip' inside of VideoStudio, it looks completely normal. It's only when I play it from the project that it looks that way. Not only does the video look like that, it also freezes and stutters. And after 10-20 seconds, all I get is a still frame.
Let me know if you need any more information, as I will happily provide it.
Thankyou,
Lachlan

Did you set your project settings as "first clip settings" ?

Re: VideoStudio X8 Pro Playback Problems
Hi
There have been a few posts regarding Bandicam video, I believe you can change the recording options (codec) Mjpeg may be the best as I know VS supports that type.
Sorry just noticed the link to the properties, did Bandicam record to H264 or have they been converted?
Try matching the project properties to your video file.
Go to Settings – preferences (F6) tick Show Messages when inserting first clip.
Start a new project – inserting a clip may show a pop up window, choose yes to the message. You can test by using the first MP4 video sample, may not activate using Bandicam video??
I assume you are using HD, try enabling Smart Proxy via Settings.
Right click the clip and choose Create Proxy Files, these can be large and take a long time to create, after which Project playback may improve.

Creating the smart proxy file seems to be the issue. It refuses to make one. I tried creating a smart proxy file before I made this thread, but what happens is: I go to the proxy queue manager, after creating the smart proxy file. I see the file there, and there's a progress bar - but the progress bar only goes a small distance - and never progresses any further. I have also tried matching the project properties with the footage - but still no differences were made. Perhaps VS doesn't like the compression that Bandicam does? Just to test things - I've opened the file in VideoStudio Ultimate X6, and it creates the Smart Proxy successfully, and playback is fine. Here's a screenshot in X6: http://prntscr.com/6i8hr3
So it's just an issue with X8. Should I try a reinstall?

Re: VideoStudio X8 Pro Playback Problems
Hi
Sorry for the delay in my reply....
I don’t really know what is happening here given that X6 seems to cope with the video. What are the properties of the video when using X6, I just wonder if X8 is reading the file correctly.
Your sample uses 55fps that’s an unusual rate, 25, 30, 50 or 60fps being standard.
Are you able to set 60fps when recording with Bandicam.
The data rate of 78591kbps also seems wrong, quite a high rate.
Are you able to record a short sample, upload to a sharing site, maybe use Windows One Drive, then we can download and try on our Pc’s, if it works for us then I guess you try a re-install
Your video is quite large I don’t think that will affect X8, but have you tried using shorter video’s?
