Hi All,
I'm hoping you can help. I'm on Win 8.1, Corel PaintShop Pro X6, 16.2.0.20 X64
When I try to apply Effects->Artistic Effects->Hot Was Coating it just makes my photo completely black. (No parm or preview window pops up)
When I try to apply Effects->Art Media Effects->Brush Strokes nothing happens though the preview shows brush strokes.
I'm told I might have to Reset, or Repair, or Reinstall.
Has anyone heard of similar problems? I have other problems as well, as in when I erase background it erases the foreground if I drag the brush. If I just place the brush cursor and click, it erases only the background.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Please Help, some of my Effects don't work.

I use X6 and have not experienced your problems. X6 works very well, but I use Windows 7.
You could try resetting by using the Shift key method, hold it down until you get a message that informs you PSP is resetting to it's default settings.
First you will need to save your customized workspace if you have customized it.
Close PSP, open it again and hold the shift key, click OK when you see that message. then check is everything is back to normal, re-load your customized workspace.
I find that a very good way of getting rid of corrupt files.
Warning: You will need to reset Preferences and re-do file Locations.

Based on the number of your issues you may have to do a reset as Joelle indicated. Regarding the Hot Wax coating; is your foreground color set to black? If so that will cause the all black effect you mentioned.

Joelle and Kathy_9, you were both right on. It sure helps to find folks who know what they're doing. The problems I mentioned are now resolved with the Shirt run you recommended. Thanks!!!
