VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Have had this for 2 weeks & this is the third time it just stopped opening.
Both other times I had to do a System Restore on my computer to get it to work & I do NOT want to continue with that. Any ideas?

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Just clicking on the program ICON or trying to open from the start/programs menu?
How do I open as administrator?..........
Just tried Run As Administrator from the start/programs menu & no luck. (Right clicked the program & clicked Run As Administrator)

No, that won't work, what Ken means, is when you installed the program, did you right click on the downloaded file and select "Run as Administrator"hab wrote:Just tried Run As Administrator from the start/programs menu & no luck. (Right clicked the program & clicked Run As Administrator)
It could be worth trying uninstalling, then reinstalling as Administrator

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Thanks, I will try that. What download file? I installed from discs. Can I do that from there?
Both times this happened earlier I did uninstall & re-install (but not as administrator as far as I can remember) & that didn't work.
I really don't recall an option to do that.

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Such a frustrating waste of time for a new program.
Just uninstalled & re-installed again (3rd time in 2 weeks)...along with having to uninstall QuickTime each of those times, and still the software won't even open.
What have I bought?

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Why on earth do you keep uninstalling Quicktime, I have never found that necessary.
When you place the disc in the drive, an AutoPlay screen should open asking what you want to do, select "Open folder to view files" you should have 2 or 3 folders, never having used discs for VS I'm not sure what you will see, but you should have, either 2-3 folders or 2-3 .exe files, if folders, open the VSX7 main file, and find Setup.exe, right click and choose Run as Administrator, if you have the .exe files showing, right click and choose Run as Administrator.

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Installed again (4th time), this time as directed (Run As Administrator) & the program still fails to open.
NOTE: I am required to uninstall Quicktime as it will not install without that step; it tells me a "A newer version of Quicktime is on this computer & installation cannot proceed"

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Jut click OK to the message and installation of VS X8 will continue normally - it is not an error message - just an information message telling you you have a newer version of Quicktime than the VS programme is wanting to install - there is no need to uninstall your existing version of Quicktime at all

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Hi
Many of us have had this message, as Brian says its for information.
If you are concerned, first uninstall Quicktime, then install Video Studio, a version of Quicktime will be installed during the VS install process.
Maybe you are terminating the installation when seeing this message.
I have checked the installation files and VS installs QT version 7.7.4
The latest QT version for Windows 7 is 7.7.6, that should not be a problem, I have 7.7.4 installed so don’t see that information message when installing VS.

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
It's VS X7, so maybe the verison of Quicktime I have is more recent than what's in that.
I do get one message that I can click OK to & continue, but then I get a second message telling me that Installation Cannot Continue because of this.
I have to back out, delete Quicktime & do the re-install again.
I have gone through days & days of e-mail help from Corel but still this program fails to open.
Have followed their instructions on clean boots/changing settings etc. etc. etc., but nothing seems to work.
Log in as admin & click to open and it just tries, but never succeeds to actually open.

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Hi
You did not mention the second message.
Can you confirm you have uninstalled Quicktime using Program and Features?
Then tried installing Video Studio.
Can you try creating a new account having Admin rights.
Try installing using that account.
I guess if you have been through Corel Support you have done most things so maybe we are just repeating what they said?

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7 Fails To Open
Can you also confirm that in "Control Panel >> Appearance and personalisation >> Display" that the dot is in the 'smaller - 100%' selection as shown below - if it is not then VideoStudio will not start - it MUST be in that position
