Saving RAW Files in PSP X7
I am new at working with Corel Paintshop Pro X7 Ultimate. I like shooting in RAW/JPEG, I have tried to find out how to save my RAW files to my hard drive in PSP X7 Ultimate. It will save the JPEG with no problem, but how do I save the RAW file so that I can work with those. I would appreciate any help I can get. I am using Windows 7 Pro so no issues with Windows 8 or 8.1, I will wait to upgrade when Windows 10 appears on the scene. Thank you I see over where it list my COmputer and capacity is say 1 gig for hard drive that is totally wrong my internal HD is 1Terabit and my external drive which I have 2 are both 1.5 T

Re: Saving RAW Files in PSP X7
Not sure what you mean by saving your Raw files to your hard drive.
I take photos on a Canon 5DII and set to produce Raw + jpg files
These are saved to a compact flash card.
I then use a card reader and place the card into that and using windows (have not even opened a graphics program yet) copy the files both Raw and jpg from the card into a folder on my computer.
The images are then renumbered and named to produce date related unique names
I copy that folder to another backup drive - now I am ready to process the copy images in the computer (since I still have two other backups -1. still on the card and 2 one on the back up drive.
These raw files are saved with the basic set of instructions imposed by the camera - ie if you shoot with wrong settings eg tungsten in daylight , these settings are used to produce the thumbnail / image you see in Irfanview or most graphics programs tht can open the Raw file.
That is one version of saving raw files to your hard drive.
The other version which may be what you mean is saving the changes to your hard drive.
In versions of PSP X3 - X7 when you load a Raw file it opens in the Camera Raw Lab. There is a tick box for "Save Image Settings". When you edit the image in X7 to say correct the white balance that setting is saved in a separate file. When you reload that raw file in any other graphics program it is still wrong, but when you reload it in X7 the set of instructions is applied and the image is OK.
It is not OK if you load it in other versions of PSP. If you copy that corrected image to the desktop , rename it and then reload it into X7 then it is wrong again. So the information for the correction is saved as a separate file and linked to that image for that version of PSP and no other.
