reformatted all my avi files into mp4 and replaced the old files with the new in the editor
still will not render.

i have no idea what xvid is.
I've rendered avi before, idk why its giving me errors now.

I have downloaded the Bandicam to test screen capture

The AVI recordings have 5 codec options without going through the lot one seems better, at least VS supports this format.


Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
MJPEG Compressor
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Set Bandicam to use MJPEG

From Video Studio F6 Preferences, set Show Messages when ....
Start a new project and insert one of the new recordings using MJPEG

i have no idea what xvid is.

Just by way of a brief explanation, XVid is the open source (free) version of DivX (which comes in both a free and commercial Pro version). It is in effect a high quality mpeg-4 but, like DivX, is one of the more than 800 video formats which wrap themselves in the .avi extension.

when using a capture device, record in fullscreen mode. the footage can be shrunk or edited in size later.
