Corel practices extortion!

Post by rglaus »

I'm sure Corel is well aware of how easy it is to program problems in to their software so that people have to pay outrageous fees for support to get their purchased products to function properly. I've been using Paint Shop Pro X7 for two months and it suddenly stopped working. I have no idea why it stopped working, but Corel wants to charge me $17.00 for the "I don't really care if I get an answer to my problem" option. They wanted to charge something around $35 if I sort of cared. I didn't check, but if I said I really cared they probably would have charged somewhere around $50.

This is absolutely outrageous and unforgivable! Shame on Corel! I just want my purchased product to work! I hope some awesome caring person on this forum can help solve my problem in my post detailing my problem.

Have a great day and good luck - to all the unfortunate but honest Corel users who are having problems, and thank you SO MUCH to the great people on this forum who may be able to solve those problems.

I am sorry to hear you are having problems with PSPX7. When you say it 'just stopped working'..... it was working when you initially installed it. So, have you made any changes since installation?

Try this: Hold the shift key while clicking the PSP icon. Does PSP open? If so, you have resumed PSP to default. If it doesn't open, I would suggest you fully uninstall and do a registry clean. Reboot your PC then reinstall both 32 and 64 bit as recommended. Let's know how you go?

Sounds similar to the problem experienced in this thread
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=56123

also with X7 on 8.1 computer where the culprit was a microsoft dll missing NOT X7.
Seems easier to blame X7 rather than check for other changes.
But I guess Corel should institute a whole series of checks that other software elements are there that it relies upon to work and replace them if missing.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867
