Can't Open X7 Projects With X8 Trial

The only place I see the 111.mpg reference is if I open the VSP file with Notepad. Impossible to tell why it's referenced, of course, and as I say, it means nothing to me.

The VSP was produced with X7 (64 bit) by inserting a sample video from the X8 installation. On my PC at least, these samples are in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X8\Samples\Video\. Strange that (apart from re-linking) it doesn't work with X7 on a different machine.

I have to take your word for it, but still this mpg file got there. Do we need to be suspicious about the VSP as a NSA tool?

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I conclude the X8 trial is not very helpful, although it has allowed me to explore Audio Ducking (see other thread). However, I am reassured that it seems it's only the trial that isn't backwards compatible with projects from older versions.

I've looked at projects going back to June 2007 and all have the mysterious reference to 111.mpg, some several times.

X8 trial
Can you do me a favour, please select the Instant Project library, it’s the second icon down, First time selected and the library should update templates.
When I select this the progress bar freezes, Device Manager to close the program.

Also can you tell me if you have X7 ultimate installed along with Boris Graffiti?

Are you using the trial version at the moment, Trevor? I ask since in my full version, the Instant Project library goes through that updating of the templates, but functions properly after that. (Even though I have had X8 for some time now, this was the first time I had opened that particular library...!)

Well I have now re-installed my full version, I was hoping to continue my editing with the trial but cannot open my existing projects.

Yes the Instant Projects work ok with the full version provided you have the bonus installed, graffiti for X8 otherwise the Graffiti clips show but don’t work.

I did confirm that the problem was related to the graffiti instant projects installed by X7.
I believe X8 is trying to update the library with the common VSPTemplate folder contents.
If I remove the Graffiti files the Instant Projects asks to import from an earlier version, choose no and all is well, choose yes and the program crashes / freezes.

Hopefully edj can confirm this.

But I was intending to inform Yvonne anyway.

As for the trial most of the editing is intact with the FX, Titles, transitions available.
Project Properties can only be set to DV-Avi and that’s SD
Share – no burner module at all.
Share - cannot render to AVCHD.MTS or Mpeg2

I can add MTS files to the timeline to edit but cannot create MTS?

I have X7 Pro (don't even know what Boris Graffiti is!). When I click on Instant Project with the X8 Trial, it updates templates then all seems to work, no freezing.
