Zoom in on a single layer?
I have a multi layer photo which I am saving in PSP format. Using x7, 64 bit. I added a photo as a layer but I want to zoom in on just that photo. It is already larger than the layer and I can move it around. But I would like it a little bigger. When I added the photo to the PSP file, I used "paste as a new layer." No matter how I zoom, the entire image is affected.... not just the one layer. So my question, I'd like that one layer to appear about 125% or so larger. How can I do that? Thanks much.

Re: Zoom in on a single layer?
I assume that the layer you are referring to is the largest image of all the images on the layers. If so, it sets the canvas size.
Establish the size of your image using info and decide you large you would like this image. From the menu select Image/Canvas size. Select lock aspect ratio and then enter the size of one of the dimensions, width or height, and select where you would like the image located, center or along the edges. After clicking OK you will have a canvas larger than your image. Now select the pick tool and drag the corners of the image to enlarge it. None of the other layers will be affected.

Re: Zoom in on a single layer?
Well the image was the same size as another image in the PSP file. It didn't seem to work very well for me, not sure what went wrong but I cheated and made the image larger before incorporating it into the PSP file. Probably an easier way to do it, but the results worked out fine. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Zoom in on a single layer?
There is an easier way to change the size of one layer to match the other layers.
Go to Pick Tool/Pick. Grab hold of any of the handles and start dragging.

Re: Zoom in on a single layer?
I have to make it bigger than the other pics in the PSP file. Thanks for the thought though.

Re: Zoom in on a single layer?
Could you do the reverse? ie reduce the size of the other layers by simply dragging the handles.

Re: Zoom in on a single layer?
As an experiment, just trying to learn new things! I tried dragging the handles. I could shrink the other layers (which is slightly impractical as I have layers in specific relation to one another. However, I did find I could zoom in by dragging the handle on the pic I wished larger even though it extended beyond the bounds of the other layers. Interesting. Next time I will know how to do it. Thanks much for the help.
