Are NewblueFx plugins compatible to X8 Ultimate ??

Can any new X8 Ultimate user tell me if the newblue Fx plugins are already compatible to it ??

Which ones are you talking about? A large number of NewBlue FX come with X8 Ultimate, so yes of course they are compatible with it.

And if you are talking about the NewBlue Essentials packs bought separately, you have to make sure you get the 64 bit version of them if you have the 64 bit version of X8. And you possibly have to add the installation path to X8 manually when you install them. But otherwise, yes they too are compatible. I have Essentials Packs I through VI and they all work.

I have the NewBlue Light Blends, NewBlue Motion Blends bought separetely but do not install on X7 Ultimate. I do have the 64 bit version. I was wondering if with the X8 Ultimate had fixed this issue.

At the moment, as far as I am aware, the only New Blue filters 64 bit compatible for Corel are the following

Colorfast
Paint Effects
Motion Effects
Art Effects
Film Effects
Essentials Packages 1-7

You should contact New Blue Support and ask when a 64 bit version of Light Blends for Corel will be available, I am still waiting for a 64 bit Corel version of the Stabilizer filter

NewBlue support told me they'd no longer be working with VideoStudio. This was after they did their new website and products. From last November (when I'd paid for the upgrade to four products and they didn't work in X7)....

Well that's disappointing to at least some of us. But at least the "legacy" filters are still included in X7 and X8 Ultimate, and the individual Video Essentials packages also continue to work with those versions as well. Hopefully they will also work in Windows 10 environments... It will be interesting, though to see what substitutes Corel will include in VS X9... Most like more proDAD filters...?

If you check out the New Blue web site, it is not only VS which is no longer supported, Adobe Premiere Elements, CyberLink PowerDirector and Sony Movie Studio also appear to be no longer supported. Hard to fathom out how New Blue think this backward step is going to improve sales of their products, considering that the lower end NLE market would have to generate considerable sales and licensing fees for them

Well... If newblue will drop, I will recommend checking with http://pixelan.com/ which has great selection of much better stuff at lower cost.

but all that do not reflect in the new addons to the NB stuff in X8, much more than in X7...

I agree with you asik1, but I have been asking Pixelan for some time now if their filter packages are compatible with Video Studio, but todate, have had no response

Thanks for asking. Several years ago, we used to provide many VS plugins. However, since Corel acquired all that, their interest/willingness to technically coordinate with third-party plugin providers like us was essentially non-existent. So we dropped them. Life is too short for that. Sounds like New Blue has decided likewise. I'm sorry you don't have many options now to extend the power of VS. Perhaps consider eventually switching to a different editing platform, such as the relatively inexpensive Sony Vegas Movie Studio or Magix PowerDirector?

The accounting department of NB know if consumer programs provide enough revenue to continue to make plugins for them. I guess they do not think so. I can understand why. Most of the plugins cost more than the editing package. Not like in the pro world of editing where the editing software costs a lot more.
When NB changed their website and basically stopped anything related to "legacy", the handwriting was on the wall.
I would have thought that licensing with consumer editors would provide income, but I guess not enough. You have Pinnacle/VSP, Magix, PD, Sony and Adobe.
But noticing Pixelan's answer for NOT doing anything seems like they tried, but Corel was not interested. I had Pixelan plugins way back with Premiere v6 and loved them. I wish I had them now.

I guess we'll all find out what plugins will be available in the Ultimate version of VSP next year. Back in the "day" when I made money editing, I used a pro product. Now, I edit for myself, am retired, and am not about to spend a lot of money for a subscription to the cloud and plugins I would use sparingly anyway.
