error with MF4

When burning to DVD, about 1/3 of the way through, I get two error messages.
The first one reads: "The target device may have some problems. Try restarting or reboot". The seocond reads: "Power calibration failed. DVD+R-SPTI-2A-02-03-73-03

Any ideas? I will try to update the firmware of my DVD writer. The model is NEC 6100A

try to use the search function of this forum. I believe that kind of problem has already been discussed.
