How to find an old you-tube tutorial

Post by jaholstein »

There are hundreds-upon-hundreds of YouTube video tutorials.
I'm looking for a specific video tutorial

Some time ago I viewed one that had a large MAP of the Mississippi river on the left side of the screen ... and photos of riverboats appeared as the map scrolled "down".

That's right - the map [image file] was extremely TALL ... perhaps 5 time the screen height. But the VS artist was able to pan-down as images on the right faded-in and faded-out.

Does ANYONE remember that video tutorial - and can you provide a link.

Finding anything that specific on YouTube has taken 3 unproductive hours so I thought I'd reach out to the community's collective memory for help.

Thanks in advance, Jim

Did a quick search but like you I was not able to find anything

but what are you wanting to do - do you just want to know how to scroll a long image like this :- http://youtu.be/43t4XxVwnvU

made with the longest image I currently have - but will work with longer images

Made using the "Customise Motion" option in VideoStudio

This should show how to do it :-

Nice ... and thanks for the quick HOW TO on the scrolling.

I'm wondering ... is there a way to make a TALL stack of photos using VSPro/Ultimate ... or do you have to use a photo editing tool?

Tried playing w/ VSx8 for an hour or so and couldn't come close to the same "effect"

No it is not possible to make the tall image in VideoStudio - it would be possible to put images consecutively in the time line and scroll each one - it would then be necessary to use overlay tracks to ensure a smooth continuous scroll

much better to do it first in an external image manipulation programme

Sorry I don't understand your comment about it not working in X8 - it works exactly the same as in X7 - in fact if you watch the tutorial video again you will see that I actually made it in X8
