Did you even try to re-install Video Studio X7 to see if that installs the Bluray option.
I am afraid that would cause more problems than it solves, such as losing various content I got at one time or another.

I believe this might have happened when I tried to run VS7 while VS8 was already running shortly after I installed VS8. It didn't start VS7 but attached to the running VS8. However, in the process the two configurations may have got mixed up.

BTW I compared the Program Files directory now and with a backup made before VS8. They are identical. I have replaced what us in AppData with the backup, and that didn't fix it either. I haven't tried messing with the registry.

I got contacted by support again about the missing Blu-ray in VS7, this time with the solution. There is an option to "Enable Blu-ray authoring" in the Help menu. I clicked it, and Blu-ray is back. The option is now grayed out. I'm not sure how it got turned off. It was there the week before I installed VS8.

The option is "Purchase Blu-ray disc authoring" in VS8.

It doesn't seem like a common problem, but maybe this will help the next person (without waiting weeks for support to figure it out).

Hi Kenneth
Thanks for the feedback.

Now you mention the “Enable Blu-ray authoring” for X7, yes there was that option in the first X7 I used.
However I do not see that option now with my X7 program but do have Bluray.
I think Corel must have changed the installation files after release or with service packs.
Otherwise I don’t understand why my version Is different to yours.

I guess the grey matter was not working to well, mind you we cannot always remember everything?

Next time I have to re-install I will take note---if I remember
