Video Studio Ultimate vX7 and vX8 best prices

Thought I'd start a separate thread for this with what I've discovered so far. Feel free to add additional information, especially if you come up with better offers. I've noted geographical limitations where I know about them.

Ultimate Version X8. Best price USD 66.59 (but note that this does NOT include a BD burner plugin, which is USD 7.19 additional). You get this by using the promotional email link apparently sent to some vX7 owners and recently posted on this forum, which is:

This does not require a US address or credit card, or that of any specific country for that matter. (It was noted by RobertOZ that the promotional price of USD 74, on top of which you get the 10% coupon, may expire on 25 Feb at which point the base price will revert to USD 99, so you may want to act fast if you like this option).

You can get a box with installation disks, or electronic download for the same price. However, it claims you need a US credit card billing address (and US shipping address if you choose the box delivery).

For price-sensitive buyers who can meet or fudge the "US-only" requirement, and given the relatively marginal improvements in vX8, the vX7 option may be a very good one, and for those who want the "latest and greatest," I'm guessing that a lower price for vX8 may not be coming for a while.

I didn't research "Pro" prices (other than to note that the 10CORELSAVE coupon seems to work across the board for all Corel products and purchases, although only for purchases directly from Corel).

While price is always an issue, I personally look at the features. What will I actually use when I edit. I know for some people, the cost difference can be difficult to meet. So, X7U will edit just fine.
You have to decide if what X8U offers is worth the additional cost.
Only "you" can decide that. I've skipped versions of software because I was content with what I have and saw no real need to upgrade. With Win XP, I skipped Vista. With Win7, I skipped Win8. I have X6U (after upgrading from X4 to X5 and then X6), but skipped X7 because I saw nothing I needed. Now, with X8, well... if they offer Smartsound, then yeah. Otherwise, no. SS is too important in my personal work flow and a necessity in editing. Bluray isn't. I have other software that can burn bluray from an ISO if I wanted to.

Huh, back up to $45.28. Someone at Corel must have realized that at the $34.99 price V7 is way more bang for the buck ...

But, for what it's worth, Pro V7 is $24.99.

Huh, back up to $45.28. Someone at Corel must have realized that at the $34.99 price V7 is way more bang for the buck ... But, for what it's worth, Pro V7 is $24.99.

And now Ultimate X7 is back down to $34.99 (you have to be a US Purchaser, which means have a credit card with a US billing address, or getting someone who has one to buy it for you who does), which pricewise is the best deal on VideoStudio, I think.
