My PC:Windows 7 professional, Intel CPU 950 3.07GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 460SE graphics card, 18GB memory.
Corel Video Studio Ultimate X7.
My intention is to prepare a series of animated maps that would record my travels in the mid 1950's. For 5 years I was an Engineer officer with major shipping Coy.
I have no problem creating the animated maps, however the track line created using Rotopen filter is rather thick in appearance. I would like to use a thinner track.
I see no way to adjust that problem within VS, is it possible to create images using Photo Shop Light and add them to Rotopen. So far have been unable to track down in my PC where Corel has loaded the Rotopen filter track images.
Should point out am 82 years old and have just purchased X7, this is my first post.
Any suggestions or additional information about Rotopen filter will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jim

Interesting Jim,
Can you post here a frame of your work, why you think it's too wide?

Re: Rotpen adding new selections
Hi Jim
and welcome to the forums
I don’t use Roto Pen that much so a bit rusty with its options.
As Asik says there are 18 track options…………
You can however hide the track line, ( Path tab – Style – Reset ) then only the image will show, that if you wish to do that?
For the Symbol you can choose one of the default clips, showing as one of the Traveler Symbols, below the Symbol is the option to Load Image, that will allow you to use your own images.
I don’t know what type or size of images will work with RotoPen, I would have to run a few tests?
Are you able to select a different Track and apply your own image?
After tracing your track, bottom right of screen has two links/tabs, click those to open a selection panel.
This has three tabs, Path, Symbol and Timings.
Hope this helps

Re: Rotpen adding new selections
Further to my original post, I discovered that there is a relationship between image size and width of the route traced. After checking all the set-up boxes and ensuring that I had 16.9 format and 1920x1080 pixel image size, the traced route is more in scale with map size.JimOS wrote:My thanks to those who replied to my Rotopen query. Jim
The only annoying feature is that the 'customize filter' screen presents a darker image than my original. After several emails from Corel help desk re this, it appears that is normal. I sent screen dumps to Corel but replies were slightly vague in my opinion. However the bottom line is I am achieving the result I expected.
Again thanks to all who replied.
Jim.
