This is really irritating now; this is the 2nd time this has happened on the same video file I've been trying to convert.
I'm still running VideoStudio Pro X3, I use the latest registered version of FRAPS to record video.
I don't know if it has to do with the size of the *.avi file from FRAPS that I was using (2 hour long video 270 GB file). I was just simply compressing it to a MPEG-4 to reduce the size to use for later, but for hours after processing it I get the error message listed in the topic title. I don't understand why I can run the completed video in any player I have (WMP, DivX, VLC, etc.) but when I try to put it back into Visual Studio I get the same error message.
I tried running Corel as administrator and nothing else running the entire time it was converting and still came out with the same error. Its really irritating.

It's been years since I used FRAPS, which was the best one for the job I needed.
Tizerak, how did you convert the file? what are the new file codec?
Bare in mind that X3 is about 5 years old and I think, never regarded as a good version.

I have to agree that VS X3 was without doubt the worst version ever...
What we need the format information for is because .avi is merely a 'wrapper' extension. Apart from uncompressed 'true' avi (huge at over 60 GB per hour of video), there are over 800 other formats which call themselves avi, and these range widely in their Properties. To get the Properties of your FRAPS video, right click on one of the clips either in the VS timeline or library window, and select the Properties button. Then either copy all of it here or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here as an attachment.

Hi
As far as I know Fraps uses raw uncompressed Avi, I would have thought Video Studio would have coped with that. Unless fraps have tweaked their captured avi codec.
There have been other posts regarding Fraps video?
Your best option may be to use a third party video converter to create a more editable format?

Lata is right it's just uncompressed AVI.
I don't know why file size should matter, but I tried to split the video in half ans then turn it into a MPEG-4 and that worked.
The full video is about 2hr 15min so I cut it at 1hr 7min and it finished converting without the error popping up.
